Dedicated to Giving You a Truly Memorable Experience
We have been operating and exploring the south end of Algonquin Park by horseback since 1999. We pride ourselves on the safety standards of ensuring that everyone has a positive riding experience with us. After operating for over 20 Years in the equine tourism industry we have a meticulous routine that generates happy horses and happy riders.
Owner and operaters are a mother daughter team of Tammy and Jocelyn who have both grown up in the Harcourt area and are one of the few to have their Equine Canada Trail Guide Instructor Certification.
Tammy Donaldson attended Humber College for Equine Studies and went on to gain equine experince in the fox hunting world. She found her way back to Harcourt where she was able to share her love and passion of horses with others. Enabling her daughter and other "horse crazy " youth to grow up in a life style completely consumed with horses. Tammy is known for her horse sense and extensive involvement in the horse industry by promoting horseback riding with two Equine Simulators featured at the Royal Winter Fair, Ontario Therapeutic Riding Association, Ontario Trail Riders Association and Ontario Equestrian. Her goal is to provide our guests with the opportunity to have a safe and positive riding experience and to enjoy the horses as much as she does.
Jocelyn Donaldson graduated from Sir Sandford Fleming with a diploma in Travel and Tourism, grew up on a horse and started her competitive competition career at just 2 years of age through a local horse club. She then moved through the ranks of the Canadian Pony Club earning her C1 level and becoming a D Tester. Jocelyn obtained an Instructors Certificate through Ontario Equestrian and has become an insightful and encouraging riding teacher for both the young and young at heart. She has competed in as many different disciplines as possible, including western pleasure, equitation, showmanship, western games, jumping, eventing, dressage, Prince Philip Games, Le Trek, endurance, and competitive trail. Settling most competitively in Mounted Games where she was able to compete on the 2016 Open Worlds Team Championships to represent Canada in Ireland. Continuing to tour Europe and competed in Wales and Britain on multiple different ponies. There really is no place like home for this girl though. She has been apart of the stable for over 20 years which enabled her the opportunity to log thousands of hours in the saddle, on a horse and has held the title for the most hours in the saddle with the Ride Ontario Program, for both junior and adult categories for multiple years. She has been greatly privileged to ride over a 100 horses and has grown up riding in this enchanted forest known as Algonquin Park.
Lacey Piper is our certified Equine Assisted Learning facilitator, and has been apart of our team since 2014. She has an Environmental Sciences Degree as an Eco system Management Technician as well as being trained in Energy Healing and a life time of experience working with horses and humans. She is in tune with both the horses and the people which enables her to monitor and enhance a variety of situations to ensure everyone involved has a positive experience with us.
"Jean Abernathy" all the components of a truly gritty, old fashioned cowgirl condensed in to this witty little horse woman. She began riding at the age of 7 on the family farm and later became a student of Humber College’s Equine Studies program. Horses have been the foundation for her career as an artist, illustrating for Equestrian books and magazines across the USA, Canada and Internationally. Jean is the creator of the cartoon, Fergus the Horse, who entertains over 300,000 social media followers, and has written and illustrated 4 Fergus books. She has ridden trails in Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Michigan as well as Ontario, on a variety of horses. She now has a lovely mare, Willow, on which she has completed Bill Richey’s Mounted Police Training clinic in Michigan twice. Jean has been a part of the S.A.T team since 2012 while her mare, Willow, joined her in 2013. They have been delighting our trail riders ever since.
